Saw these with the LED lights and decided to try them since the other ones never lasted. They are beautiful and I get so many compliments. Very happy with my purchase. I have a covered patio so the lights are not exposed to the rain. So not sure if rain proof I hope these last longer then the standard lights. The remote works great and they came in the box packaged with care and 2 replacement lights. Have had this set for around 4-5 weeks. Fingers crossed.

I purchased a bunch of Ollny lights this year including 2 of these strands. These were used on an outside tree for Christmas decorations in Pennsylvania. First, the lights are VERY pretty, have nice colors/variations and decorative brightness. They look delicate (the inside the bulbs are like fairy lights), but are actually quite durable (survived rain and wind). The clips on each bulb attached (and stayed attached) nicely to the tree. After about 3 weeks of use, one of the white boxes (that controls the color from the remote ) stopped working properly (stayed on one color/mode) and a couple of bulbs burned out (btw--I had no issues with any of the other Ollny strands or remotes/boxes that were also outside. But I contacted the company directly with the issue and they sent me an entirely new set free that arrived very quickly.

These are extremely nice lights. I was very pleasantly surprised to open the box and see the care and attention taken. The light chain has such wow factor. I do try to buy US made goods, especially at this time and in the current situation. These are made in China which I am not surprised given the bang for money. The box comes with two spare bulbs, which is a good thing as two bulbs in the chain already didn't work. We had to tighten all the bulbs too because initially, it looked like many didn't work at first plug in. Fortunately, tightening them did the trick. I will be keeping my eye on the bulb situation as if more fail, I do not have spares now and this could be a significant issue. It is odd that they send spares and even odder that we needed to use them immediately.

1. What do the IP ratings mean?

Some Ollny outdoor lights have an IP44 rating which means they are protected from water sprayed in all directions. We achieve this with strong rubber cables and double sealed caps over the bulbs. And some outdoor lights are IP67 waterproof which means they can prevent rain and water. All indoor use lights are usually rated IP20. So please take a further look at every product description to confirm the IP rating.

The timing function is that when you press the "timer" button, the red light on the control box will light up, indicating that it is working in timing. And the lights will be 6 hours on / 18 hours off.

If you want to turn timer off. Press the "timer". When the red light goes out, the timer is off.
